July 22 Back from the East CoastHello again! I tried to get online but was too busy on the mainland. Would try but then had to leave to go somewhere. Being 6 hrs ahead (3 hrs from PT) was hard to get use to, so I just would end up not sleeping, just go, go, go each day. So now I have caught a bug, that I can't shake, so apologize for not responding to your messages. Thanks for the invites to other sites, but have been resting, reading, reflecting, rejuvenating.......but appreciate your thoughts and most of all your friendship.
Going on a trip allowed me to see how fortunate I was to live in Hawaii. Other people would ask me about Hawaii, some people had no idea about Hawaii (or that we are made up of many different ethnicities). Some thought I was from China, most guessed Asia, but always thought I was from where I was visiting (the bigger cities-Washington DC, Manhattan n San Diego, coming back many thought home was Vegas, guess I look like a "local" anywhere). It was exciting, exhausting, fun and a new adventure each day (that's how should always be, even when you aren't traveling).
I am glad to be back in Hawaii again, sad that I couldn't bring back some of the lovely people I met, who would love to visit here. I am so fortunate to be able to travel, to see the places I always wanted to see. Never thought I would end up seeing the Capitol. Washington DC was simply amazing, with all the history that I had grown up with. Seeing all the images that I had seen only on TV or in books. I was awestruck by the enormity of the buildings, monuments, statues, museums, the knowledge I gained there was immense. Got intensely emotional when I walked into the Lincoln Memorial, the reflecting pool, standing there I saw so much history pass before my eyes, so many images as a child of how much I wanted to visit here, saddened by all those who gave their lives up for our freedom in this world.
How great it is to have others before me, think of the whole, rather then just of themselves. How great it is to read the words and works of those who value life, love, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Truly there are great and good people everywhere. The more I am in this world, the more I appreciate others for the contributions they bring. There is good and bad in this life, but always a reminder, the good overcomes the bad always. Thank you God, for having created so many great people in this world who contribute to the wellbeing of mankind, on this earth and beyond. We are all truly blessed to be here.
Time for me to rest, missing you all, thanks for visiting. Need to unpack but for now, relaxing by sharing online and again thanks for all the posts, messages and invitations. Thank you for being here!
